Mobile operating systemsMore and more mobile operators rely on Google’s mobile operating system Android. This is one of the operating system which is the main competitor to the Apple App Store and since this have number of open source applications the demand increases for it and the market research firm Strategy Analytics expects for this year the growth will be more than 900 percent in sales of Android devices and they say that the reason for this is the availability of more than 10,000 free mini-programs for download.

Major mobile phone manufacturers such as Samsung, HTC and Motorola have already announced new Android models for fall and winter. Even LG which is far from Windows mobile phone have introduced its first Android smartphone LG GW620 in this autumn. “Reason for the enormous growth of the Android operating system is the quality and compatibility issues of its competitors.
Symbian, a subsidiary of Nokia has the latest version (5th Edition) adapted the touch screen mechanism. But older programs run by the lack of updates that are necessary for a touch-screen operation and hence it is not performing great.
Windows Mobile, however with scores of similarity to the Windows desktop versions and with Office programs which are suitable for business applications particularly. But the creation and operation of applications are still somewhat immature.
Even with Android there are still some weak points. The Android Market is not open source such as the OS itself so there are some limitations in the variety of programs. The market for such programs is growing steadily at a rate of about 10 percent in the month. App Store is expected soon to be overtaken by Android.

Watch for BlackBerry smartphones
The Inpulse Smartwatch is a wristwatch, which is in combination with a BlackBerry smartphone. The most important information such as incoming calls or text messages is displayed in addition to the time display. The device features a large 1.3 inch OLED display, a metal case, a vibrating alert, and Bluetooth 2.0 for the transfer of information and is 12 mm thick. The battery life will be with a load of up to 4 days. This wristwatch mobile phone is very compact and hence it just looks like an ordinary wristwatch.
Inpulse The Smart Watch is available from February 2010 and will cost the equivalent of 150 francs (100 euros).
